What You'll Need to Get Started
Honestly? Not much. We've designed our programs to work with equipment most people already have. The technical side shouldn't be a barrier to better financial knowledge.
Basic Computer Setup
You don't need anything fancy here. A laptop or desktop from the last five years will do fine.
- Windows 10/11 or macOS 10.14+
- 4GB RAM minimum (8GB preferred)
- At least 10GB free storage
- Stable internet connection
- Working webcam and microphone
Internet Connection
Live sessions work best with reliable internet. Most Australian home broadband handles this without issues.
- 10 Mbps download minimum
- 5 Mbps upload for video calls
- Wired connection recommended
- WiFi works if signal is strong
- Mobile hotspot as backup option
Software Access
We'll guide you through setup during orientation week. Everything you need is either free or provided.
- Modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox)
- PDF reader for materials
- Spreadsheet software access
- Video conferencing client
- Mobile app for iOS or Android
Tools We'll Use Together
Learning Platform
Video Conferencing
Live sessions run through a standard platform. You'll receive a link before each session starts. No downloads required unless you prefer the desktop app.
Course Portal
All your materials live in one place. Works on any device with a browser. You can download resources to review offline whenever you want.
Mobile Companion
Optional app for on-the-go access. Review lessons during your commute or check course updates. Everything syncs automatically with the main platform.
Practical Applications
Budget Templates
We provide spreadsheet templates that work with Excel or Google Sheets. You can customize them as you learn. No formulas to write from scratch.
Financial Calculators
Browser-based tools for common calculations. Mortgage comparisons, compound interest, retirement planning. All tested to work on Australian figures and tax rates.
Practice Scenarios
Interactive exercises that adapt to your progress. Real situations based on what our students typically face. You can retry them as many times as you need.
Support When You Need It
Fletcher Pemberton
Technical Support
If something's not working right, Fletcher sorts it out. He's been doing tech support for online learning since 2019 and knows every workaround for connection issues.
Ruairi Gallagher
Platform Specialist
Ruairi helps you get comfortable with the learning tools. Quick screen-sharing sessions to show you around. Most questions get answered in under ten minutes.
Saskia Lindström
Student Success
Saskia checks in regularly to make sure everything's running smoothly. She spots issues before they become problems and connects you with the right help immediately.
Test Your Setup Before Starting
We run a tech check session two weeks before each program begins. Takes about fifteen minutes. You'll test your camera, microphone, and platform access with one of our team members.
Found an issue? We'll help you fix it or find an alternative. Nobody misses orientation because of technical problems.

Common Technical Questions
What if my internet connection drops during a live session?
It happens. All live sessions are recorded automatically. You'll get the recording within an hour. Plus, we post session notes that cover the key points discussed. You won't miss critical information.
Can I use a tablet instead of a computer?
Yes, for most activities. Some spreadsheet exercises work better on a full computer, but you can complete about 80% of the program on a tablet. Many students switch between devices depending on where they are.
Do you support Linux or Chromebooks?
Chromebooks work fine since most tools are browser-based. Linux works but might need occasional workarounds for certain downloads. Our tech team has experience with both and can help troubleshoot.
What about accessibility features?
All video content includes captions. Screen reader compatible materials available upon request. We can adjust session formats for various accessibility needs. Just let us know what would help during enrollment.
Is there a mobile-only option?
Not entirely, but you can do a lot on mobile. Reading materials, watching videos, and discussion forums all work perfectly on phones. Live sessions and spreadsheet work need a larger screen for practical reasons.
